Hi,
Windows XP Home edition doesn't support multiple processors. -- Gary Tsang Microsoft MVP - Windows XP Shell/User http://www.microsoft.com/mvp "brett pledger" <brett@ezeit.co.uk> wrote in message news:O%23guUuclDHA.1096@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > Anyone know if home edition supports multiple processors. i have a dual > pentium mobo i want to use for the wife but dont need to put profesional on > it just home ed. No, sorry. You'll have to use Pro.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/whichxp.asp "Which Edition Is Right for You?" (I imagine that this is purely a marketing feature. I can't claim great familiarity with the bits XP Home uses to support a hyperthreaded CPU, like my P4 2.6c, but it appears that multiprocessor code may be involved.) Bob Knowlden Address may be altered to avoid spam. Replace nkbob with bobkn. brett pledger wrote: > Anyone know if home edition supports multiple processors. i have a dual > pentium mobo i want to use for the wife but dont need to put profesional on > it just home ed.
