Default Lost my E & F Drives

Hello,

Yesterday I removed some software programs, and today XP
running on hp pavilion 792 C no longer shows dvd
writer/cd-writer combo (E Drive) nor dvd-rom (F Drive).
I tried to restore from deletion date, but computer tells
me it cannot restore, probably because on Friday's we
defrage everthing.

Can you please tell me how to get XP to recognize E and F
drives and restore them to operability?

Thanks,

Go into Device Manager and uninstall the E and F drives. Reboot and XP
should reinstall them.

Download this fix to fix missing Cd drives or drives with error 39
etc:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_..._cd_dvd_fix.htm. Download
the vbs
script file, double click it and click yes when prompted. You will
need to
reboot for the changes to take effect.
