Default Power Failure during NTFS convert

I was running the convert program when a power outage
occured. Now when I reboot, the operating system will
not start up. Is there anyway to finish what was
started? When I reboot using the Windows XP CD to start
from, it checks this disk and says it is corrupt and will
not continue. Is there anything that can be done to
recover short of deleting the partition, reformatting the
entire drive, and re-installing the complete system?

I don't understand why people will spend $1,000 or more for
a computer, more for games but won't spend $30-100 for a
battery backed UPS.

I think you'll need to do a complete reformat, partition as
you please...then reinstall all your software and the
backups of your personal files.

It might even require the use of low level and high level
formatting to repair the disk.
