Default Display adapter not working

In the display settings advanced options, my display
adapter is read as VGAsave. Does anyone know how to
change this. The drivers are also not being loaded
correctly, but are up to date.
Thx in advance

Default Re: Display adapter not working

I'm sorry to say I may not have good news but... happened to me also. It
resulted from installing a video card driver that was either not fully
compatible with XP or was corrupted or became corrupted during installation.

The driver was actually an nVidia detonator from their website. Anyway, it
was several hours of work before I finally found a Beta Detonator driver for
W2K/XP and eventually got it installed in safe mode.

Unfortunately I do not remember all of the steps needed (and un-needed)
during those several hours that ended in a positive outcome You might
try going into safe mode and replacing the current driver with the generic
VGA driver that XP has ~ restarting ~ then see if you can install the proper
driver.

Or you might try installing under safe mode... anyway good luck! Hope it
doesn't take you as long as it did me!

Uninstall drivers via Device Manager or Add/Remove Programs.
Then d/l and install latest drivers:

http://www.nvidea.com

etc
