Corrupt partition table in windows xp pro

After booting into windows xp, all partitions in the
extended area had dissapeared. The primary C:seemed ok.
Restore said it couldn't do anything about D thru m
because they had been turned off.
Is there a way to recover the partition table? I'm sure
the data is still there.
