Hi All
First post so here goes. I want to upgrade my O/S to Win XP Pro the current O/S is win 98 Upgrade from Win 95 both these copies are legitimate would I get away with buying the upgrade version to XP Pro doing a clean install and allowing XP to ask for the neccesary files of Win 98 or 95. Hope that dosn't sound to confusing. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards Ash ![]() |

According to :
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...ding/matrix.asp You should be able to do so, although you will have a long re-installation process should you wish to upgrade from scratch again ![]() Its a good idea to check your PC for the minimum requirements, as you need at least a P233 with 64 megs of ram to run it. Hope that helps ![]()

No Problemo
![]() Let me know if you have any problems with the installation and I'll lend a hand. Windows XP is a really nice operating system to use, my favorite yet!

So, let me get this straight. You want to buy the XP Pro upgrade and format your previous OS? You should be able to upgrade without a problem. I recently upgraded from 98 (no format) and all went smoothly. I should really format, though.
