clip audio won't play

Hi,

I have been making MSWMM movies for a long time and now have a strange
problem. The audio in a clip plays well in the 'preview' pane (at right) but
will not play the audio when dropped onto the 'timeline'. Oddly, any
background music I have placed on the timeline plays well, so I know it is
not a 'volume control' issue. I have tried everything I can think of to get
the clip's audio to play from the timeline. The 'waveform' shows in the
clips audio image under 'timeline'. Please offer any feedback you can about
this and thanks......
