ok,
i have a gf fx 5200/ultra (but i dont think it is) when i first got the card i have dx9 on my system, i like playing ut2003. i re-formatted my drive last week and installed ut2003 as my first game, with xp pro dx8.1 came with it (or with ut) i played ut2003 and it played like a dream... twice as fast and the fps doubled...i love it, realised i had'nt intstalled dx9 so i did, the performace of my (so called) dx9 card dropped to what it was like before. but this makes no sense, before on my 1ghz 290mb sdram fx5200 comp i played single player matches with a max of 8 bots, it lagged and slowed down a bit but was playable. with dx8 my comp can play 12+bots and it play smooth... im baffeled, dx8 running better on a card specialised for dx9 care to shine a light on this for me ? |

I'm not really sure why you would get such an error!? Have you installed the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com after formatting?
Older drivers might be slow under DX9.0

... has the Game been specificly designd to make use of DX9? I don't think so ... the makers of the game would loose out to those that cannot play it on an a TNT m64. Drivers could/should help, but a lot of 'farting' around to find the right ones ... Go back to DX8.1 and enjoy your game. ![]()
