When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.

His job, the fine and jail he should get. Will it happen?

Nope!!!

Different laws for people who practice the law and people on the other side of it.

No disrespect to the majority but i'm sure a lot of the people reading this understand what I mean

What a scumbag. Horsewhipping ain't good enough for him specially as he is a trained dog handler.

What an animal, and thsi is a man that works with highly trained animals....They should make an example of him and jail him, but as TripleX said, one law for one lot and another law for the others....

Well I very much doubt if he done it on purpose, I daresay the handler is more upset than all you lot put together.

Oversight, stupidness, carelessness are the likely reasons for the dogs' deaths.

I did read he's going to be disciplined.

If, on the other hand, the officer responsible for their death really couldn't have cared less for his canine companions then line me up with the above mob mentality and a big club with lots of nails sticking out of it.

But I think that unlikely.

But, I'm only guessing, none of us know the exact circumstances and we likely never will.

But instead of letting your emotions run rampant try and sit back and imagine all possible scenarios.

I'm not rampant just disgusted that such a highly trianed animal handler like himself could even let such a thing slip from his mind.

Over a hundred degrees last week and he leaves dogs in the back of a car without any windows open!!

He's a frigging idiot and doesn't deserve the right to be given a second chance within his field

I have been doing as you have said since I posted, maybe if I had done that first my post would be different. At the end of the day none of us know what was happening at the time, or what the circumstances were etc. Remember this is also a story reported by the media, so there could be a multitude of things left out of the bigger picture. If tht makes sense....?

Well we shall wait and see.

One thing we all know for certain.

Dogs + Heat + Closed car windows = Consequence

A police spokesman did confirm the incident took place and I find it extremely upsetting that any animals should suffer.

And emotions will run rampant when it comes to dogs, that's just the way most folks are.

I dare say the same outrage wouldn't have been felt had the dogs been a couple of pet rats, pigs or tortoises, for instance.

It's just that I read the comments above and I sometimes wonder how thin a veneer civilisation is.

Of course the fool deserves punishing for his act and it would probably be a good idea if he was no longer allowed to handle dogs.

But did he do it maliciously?

Did he purposely set out to murder two animals by asphyxiation and dehydration?

Did he become a dog handler because he hates dogs?

And of course we're all assuming he's 100% sane and 100% emotionally stable.

I'll agree the whole thing is upsetting and a damn shame and steps should be taken to ensure it doesn't happen again but expressions such as 'Horsewhipping ain't good enough for him' make me despair for the human race.
