Default Remote desktop performance...

I set up a lawyer to use remote desktop to get to her office & have noticed
a couple of glitches.
She has a DSL connection at home & work, computers at office are Dells, top
of the line 4-5 years ago, home computers are IBM laptop, again top of the
line 4-5 years ago & a brand new Dell desktop, 3G CPU, 2GB ram, & all
computers running XP Pro.
When working on docs on work computer from home (on desktop), sometime
things will freeze & then after a few minutes 'catch up' like when typoing &
such.
She claims that this never happens when working from the laptop.
Anything that could be causing this?
Settings that can be tweaked, etc?

Have you gone into the Remote Desktop connectoid and selected "Options ->
Experience -> Performance" and tailored for the connection your using? Beyond
that you might suggest copying the file to the local PC, working on the file,
saving it and copying back to the remote PC.

I can check the settings, but copying the file isn't really an option, as
it's not one (or a couple) of files - it could be one of hundreds!
