Hi, I have XP Pro PC and can't seem to get it to connect to the server (Win
Server 2003) automagically. I had one user on this PC and added another. Neither have password set on PC. PC comes up with the two UNames with icons. After clicking the user I want to log on as, the PC comes up but icon and message from right bottom corner indicates the network drives were not connected to. I'm sure this is because I did not set PWord. I click the icon and the network drives show they are disconnected. I have to click on a network resource and enter Uname and Pword to sign on to the server. This is not big problem but everyone else on the network comes to the Log On window to sign on. I've changed to Log On to Windows window but then they have to enter the Uname and Pword twice to connect to network as this does not automagically connect network drives. I've done the following: - Both users are in user groups on Server and PC. - I checked User Must Change Password on Next Sign On on server computer management function but somehow that does not trigger the change password option when they sign on. - Under both sign-ons on PC, went thru My Computer and set network ID. I want to use Log On window to allow users access to the network with UName and PWord. Any help will be greatly appreciated. All of a sudden I came to the conclusion the problem may be resolved if I add the PWord to the User Profile on the PC. If there are any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it. KenP |
