Default KB954154 update repeating


I choose install, and the update finish, but after a few seconds a new
reminder for the same update apears in the system tray.

No error messages.

Is Windows Media Player 11 installed ? Check in Add/Remove Programs in
the Control Panel to see if it is.
If it is, then there will be an error message[s] in either the
WindowsUpdate.log, or there will be an installation log, KB954154.log.
Both logs reside in WINDOWS.
Copy and paste the KB954154.log into your reply if it exists.

You need to register the .dll, not just move it there, or it won't function.

regsvr32 wmpeffects.dll

Works for me to.
I had to rename "wmpeffects.dll" before copying.
I also did the : "regsvr32 wmpeffects.dll" as MowGreen suggested.
