video conference with IM user

hi I have a big dollar Polycom video conferencing system and was looking to
see if there is a way to dial and video chat with IM accounts? I was hoping
to catch some friend and relatives in Iraq for family chats? I have put the
IM directory URL in my global directory servers but never seems to go
anywhere. has there or is this possible to do?

To the best of my knowledge this is not possible with Messenger. The "directory" has been
down for a long time.
