Default windows messenger to hotmail

I have just rebuilt my laptop and now windows messenger has changed.
before when i received mail with my hotmail.com address i would receive a
message on my desktop and then i could go to windows messenger and click on
goto my email account, which then opened a iexplorer window and went to my
email inbox at hotmail. but now it goes to my microsoft outlook inbox.
I dont want hotmail connected to outlook so i always goto hotmail via the web.
how can i change this setting?

Greetings,

This feature no longer exists in Windows Messenger. You need to use Windows Live Messenger
instead:
