Yes HKCU (Hive key current user or whatever) is to do with the registry. This is likely to be something that "One" of your protection programs is doing, trying to warn of a registry change, is there ay way you can expand the box to see more of the text? You could try disabling any Explorer add ons or toolbars and see if that helps, in fact this could even be some kind of malware that the real time protection is seeing at work but not identifying. Wait and see if anyone else has seen this exact problem. It may even be something left over from AVG but you said you did a restore so I don't see how... |

I run AVG 8 on several machines and have not seen that issue in XP or Vista.
My best guess is it is coincidence. Do you have an earlier restore date to try? I would guess it is something you installed, but without knowing exactly what was installed when, it's impossible to pinpoint it. Well I like Spybot but by default is installs TeaTimer which is alright
in theory but can get to being a nuisance, and if you had accidentally installed 2 things with the same idea I can easily see them fighting in some circumstances.
