Default Remote Desktop in Home Network

I have a home network. I want my family to be able to
connect to my home computer. I run Windows XP.

I have done everything I can think of (including reading
all the Help instructions) to allow my XP Pro machine to
allow incoming Remote Desktop connections. I have checked
the Remote machines and connected to computers via the
internet. I just cannot connect in my home network. Any
suggestions?

I THINK, not sure, but it could be because of your switch
or router that you may have set up. I know my friend and
I tested this with my switch and my firewall software, I
think I should get a message that someone wants server
rights but I think it might be that I am on a private IP
scheme instead of being given an IP address on the
Internet.
