Default Network Sharing - Making folders private & Restoring

Have made some of my folders Private after allowing
network sharing. I am not able to restore these folders
back to normal as the check boxes are low intensity and l
cannot access it. How is it possible to restore these
folders to normal again so l can access them via my home
local network. I know l can move them to Shared
Documents, but this is not what l want to do. I am
running XP Pro with service pack 1 update.

Try this, open Windows Explorer, go to Tools, select Folder Options, go to
the View tab, remove the check from "Use simple file sharing," click apply
and ok.
