For some reason my Lexmark X63 printer takes about 5 minutes to accept a
print command. Once accepted it prints normally. I have a query into Lexmark support but they have not replied as yet. I wonder if the problem lies in the printer, the software or ???. I would appreciate any advice . Thanks, Dennis |

It doesn't usually take 5 minutes with my HP PSC 1210 but it does take some
time, often a few minutes before it begins to print. There does seem to be a delay in the beginning of a print job. That said, you can speed it up a bit as follows assuming you haven't already made these selections. Open Control Panel, open Printers and Faxes, right click your printer, select Properties, go to the Advanced tab, make sure "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster" and "Start printing immediately is selected." There will still be a delay but perhaps not as long. Also, check the Lexmark website to be sure you have the latest drivers for your printer. Also, while Lexmark may be supporting the X63, it would certainly seem so if they have provided you with XP drivers for your printer, I didn't find the Lexmark X63 on the compatibility list, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...ding/compat.asp. That might be the reason for the longer time it takes for print jobs to initialize. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "Dennis McMahon" <dmcmahon@shaw.ca> wrote in message news:uhik9#tqDHA.2404@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > For some reason my Lexmark X63 printer takes about 5 minutes to accept a > print command.
