lsass.exe system error when starting windows

When I start my computer it goes to a black screen that
says that there was a problem shutting down and that I can
start in safe mode, start as normal, or start from last
settings that worked. No matter which I choose, I get an
error message and the computer restarts. It
says "lsass.exe - system error When trying to update a
password, this return status indicates that the value
provided as the current password is not correct." Any
ideas what is wrong?
