I have been running Windows Mail on a Vista Laptop for several months, with
no problems. Suddenly, today, I cannot send emails, they hang up in outbox and i receive error msg. I have been reading the forum for a while and found one that suggested deleting the unsent msg. in the outbox, I did that, and now it is working. What caused this? I am running "Trend Micro Internet Security 14". |

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer that is running Windows Vista http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090 It also works on other folders. 2. Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular resident protection. Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's anti-virus seems to be causing problems too. -- Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM Do not reply with email |

A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not available)
tends to cause assorted problems in Windows Mail. They are often more difficult to fix than that, and may require uninstalling (not just disabling) the Trend program.
