I received an email with attachment today. When I tried to open the message
the following Windows Internet Explorer warning appeared: " One or more of your ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or; 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. As a result, the page may not display properly" When I clicked on the OK button, the message opened properly. However, I now cannot delete or move the email in question to a file folder without blocking all incoming and outgoing mail, after which I receive the same warning as above and have to restart my laptop to get everything working again. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, can you help me? -- Dale Boyd |

To fix the initial problem:
Tools, Options, Security, choose the Internet zone. To fix the inability to move or delete that message, see this Microsoft fix: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090 Although it only mentions 'outbox', it works for all mail folders. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Dale Boyd" <DaleBoyd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E08403DE-3717-4E7D-8494-915EA9668CD2@microsoft.com... >I received an email with attachment today. Thanks for your quick response, Gary. Changing the Security setting to
Internet Zone did help with the initial problem. However, when I tried to download the Windows Vista update, I received the message that my system could not take it. I have the 32-bit version but must be missing something else. Thanks anyway. -- Dale Boyd "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > To fix the initial problem: > Tools, Options, Security, choose the Internet zone. > > To fix the inability to move or delete that message, see this Microsoft fix: > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090 > > Although it only mentions 'outbox', it works for all mail folders. > -- > Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) > > > "Dale Boyd" <DaleBoyd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E08403DE-3717-4E7D-8494-915EA9668CD2@microsoft.com... > >I received an email with attachment today. The Vista SP1 update also includes that hotfix, so it may be objecting
to installing the hotfix separately on a machine that already has Vista SP1 installed. If not, you could install this update, but expect installing it to take hours longer than just installing the hotfix. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936330 "Dale Boyd" <DaleBoyd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:84E14FEB-557F-47F0-8F11-BA438AFD5226@microsoft.com... > Thanks for your quick response, Gary.
