Default dbx to text?

I am upgrading from XP to Vista. I would like to archive the messages in
Outlook Express, but still be able to read them, if needed. Is there a way
to convert those dbx files to something compatible with Windows Word without
having to import them into Windows Mail?

Install Mozilla Thunderbird and import to that. Thunderbird uses MBox
mailbox format which is just a big text file....

My extraction programs will save the messages as individual eml files, which
are text. (see DBXtract or DBXpress here: www.oehelp.com). Also, check
out my OEX program which will let you import from a dbx file into WinMail
directly.

For more info on the differences, see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx
