Default Delete message

I have a message in my inbox dated 21/4/2008 which I cannot delete. The
message is from 'Customer Service' - I can't view the message or the
properties. When I try to delete I get a message 'An unknown error has
occurred' and will not delete. I'm using Vista with Windows Mail. Help
please.

Unknown errors in Windows Mail are often due to interference from an
antivirus program. What if any antivirus programs do you have?

For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with Windows Mail
not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for stuck messages in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista
or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first. The
update
Vista SP1 also includes this hotfix, but takes longer to install.

Did you also try installing the hotfix for 64-bit? One of the versions of
the hotfix will just refuse to install, but there's still a chance to other
one
will.

The 64 bit won't install, so my Vista is 32 bit. I'm still stuck with this
message which I can't delete. Never happened before.

There's also a WORKAROUND section at that web site, which
you may need to try.

Installation of Vista update KB941090 solved the problem. The mail was
finally deleted. Thanks to all for your replies.
