Default windows mail

The host 'smtp.mail.comcast.net' could not be found. Please verify that you
have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Emailing: 12-30-07 golf', Account: 'POP3', Server:
'smtp.mail.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

After many attempts to send 1 email, I changed my outgoing server name
several times, apparently incorrectly. I don't know how to go back to the
default settings. Would sure appreciate help!!!

In such cases, it's often a good idea to remove the old email account under
Windows Mail, then restart Windows Mail and add it again. Start out with
these instructions, but under Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express:

<http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?faq=Emailtop17686&cookieattempt=1>

Avoid the One Click Fix.

Note that Comcast is in the middle of making all their users switch from
port 25
to port 587, but is failing to keep their users adequately informed of this.
In case
they've decided to require you to switch already, you'll also need these
instructions:

<http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?faq=EmailOutlook18914&cookieattempt=1>

If they haven't, you might want to follow them anyway to avoid more trouble
later.

If your messages still won't go out after you make these changes, move all
the
messages in your Outbox to the Drafts folder or delete them. Tell us if any
refuse
to do either.

Then send yourself a message and see if it arrives as new mail.

According to
http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/ind...ailOutlook18914
Comcast wants you to use smtp.comcast.com as their outgoing (SMTP) server.
