If i do a repair installation of Vista ,will it repair missing or corrupt
file ntoskrnl. exe. I have a Vista home premium upgrade installation disc. Thank you. -- brutus |

It would, but that is not your problem. You have a problem with your
startup routine as the boot process points to a partition that doesn't have Vista one it. What did you do that caused it. Did you create a new partition, add a drive, change something in the BIOS? Those are the places you have to start. You should try the startup repair before you do anything else as there would be fewer changes and you may get the boot files corrected for you. Yes. In fact this is the way MS tech support advised me to correct one
corrupt file I had that would not allow SP1 to install. You can do it from the "anytime upgrade" DVD if you have an OEM installation.
