Default IE7 and SP1

Just had the auto update version of Vista SP1 installed.

Why is IE7 slower to open now? Previously I had none of the problems
frequently mentioned on here and my Vista system was really fast. Now when I
open IE7 it halts before the window is fully shown. I either get an oblique
almost transparent version of the main body of the window showing through
the IE7 border with the desktop showing through that or I get the IE7 border
with desktop only showing through. After a second or two the window opens
fully with the white background as it was before.

No changes to my preferences that I can see and things which would slow it
down, such as phishing filter, were turned off and have remained off.

Can't see any improvements to the system since SP1 installed. Would I be
just as well to uninstall it?

Any thoughts or comments welcomed.

Vista Home Premium
AMD Phenom Quad Core
3 GB RAM

IE7 -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Reset button

What a clever idea! (NOT)

I presume you have tried this your self. All it managed to do was to lose
all my personal settings and make it even slower to open.
