Default Outlook 2003 error message

I get the following error message when I open outlook. Powered by SupportSoft
Your operating system is not supported by this installation. It also freezes
my computer and then needs to be reboot.
I was told to disable SupportSoft but could not find it. It was not in my
Addins manager or ComAddins. I also looked in the registry and there was
nothing about SupportSoft in the Addins. I found a folder named SupportSoft
under program files/common files. But I did not know which dll to disable. I
didn't know if I could delete the whole folder. There was not an exe file in
that folder.
I finally was able to do a system restore and it seems to have taken care of
the problem so far. Is there something else I could do if I get the error
message again?
Thank you

Try deleteing the (hidden) file
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat
(WIndows XP) or
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat (Vista)
