PST -v- CSV

I want to synch calendars in separate locations - is there any loss of
information if I use a csv instead of a pst file?
This applies to Calendars, but I'm also interested to know about Mail,
Contacts, Tasks. If there's no difference, I presume a csv file is smaller
and safer.

you may lose data in the Notes field of contacts, calendar and tasks but
otherwise, it will work. You'll lose internet headers and may lose parts of
long messages or attachments if you do it for email.

Hi Bod,

I don´t think that it is possible to "synchronize" your Outlook with a
network folder with CSV files.

You can do it manually but not automatically.

If you save an Outlook item as "CSV" file you will lost the "links" in this
csv files.

E.G. You have an appointment with a link to a "Contact". If you save this
appointment as CSV, the link get broken.

Why do you want to save your Outlook items on a harddisk? A harddisk (500
GB) is not expensive and if you safe (backup) your PST file you only have to
save only one file and not thousands.

You also have to "compress" your PST files to get the real size of your PST:
