I've lost functionality to enter meetings in my Outlook calendar?

I seem to have lost the functionality to enter appointments in my Outlook
calendar. The 'pop up' where the details of the appointment just doesn't
appear anymore! Any ideas how to remedy this, please???

Version of outlook? Is the "pop up" the appointment form or something else?
