live messenger error

Hi all,

I am using windows xp home sr3 and windows live messenger. When I click on
live messenger the windows installer comes up and tells me there was a
problem and gives an error code of 2771. What can this be and can it be
fixed? Thanks,

Totally remove it, then go to www.get.live.com and install. When done remove
windows live installer.
P.S. get update for live sign in assistant.

I had the same issue on my private laptop and I just followed all the steps
you explained here. I am very happy to tell you that it works, my issue is
fixed.
