Default Download SP3 problem

When I downloaded the Windows XP SP3 and rebooted the computer, it showed
that the Windows Live Messenger packing was wrong and could not be
installed.
Did the SP3 and WLMail8.1 not compatible to each other?
How to solve this problem?

Greetings,

It should be. As a quick fix though, you could simply upgrade your 8.1 installation to 8.5:
