Default Access Database Rookie looking General Help

Hello,
I've created an Access database in Access 2003- soon to be upgraded to Vista in the next few weeks.
I need to have several other people entering data as well. The current system is to enter data in linked excel tables and I append the data into tables through the Append Query. I see that it's easy to alter previously appended data in the linked table which alters the Access table. In order to secure this security breach, I was investigating alternate ways to enter data. Forms don't seem to work because we need to upload many records at one time.

1) Will Access Pages over the intranet allow us to upload many records at once, much like the linked Excel sheets?

2) Also, is it realistic to update a database by entering data in a query?
