Exclamation The specified I/O operation on name was not completed before the time-out period

My operating system is Windows XP and I am trying to hook up my camera. It is supposed to be a plug and play. I have to hook it in the rear USB.
It is Argus DC- 5195 and it will not show the pictures. After a while it keeps giving me this error message. THE SPECIFIED I/O OPERATION ON DEVICE/HARDDISK1/DR 3 WAS NOT COMPLETED BEFORE THE TIME OUT PERIOD EXPIRED. Can anyone please tell me what I can do to get my camera to work on my computer. Thank you
Please Help.

Do all of the USB ports result in this error? It might be worth trying it on a different machine to see if the camera is at fault.
