Is it possible to merge / collate several e-mails into one chain of correspondence?

Quite often I'll have many different sent items and replies which all relate to the same topic and I want to merge them into one document - thus keeping all items together.

Ideally I'd like to select all the relevant items, and have all the detail saved in date order in one e-mail.
