I have automatic updates active (installation at night), but have not seen
SP1 listed as an update on my computer or on "Windows Update". Is the service pack only for non-ultimate versions at this time? Or is there something I have to do? Or is Microsoft rolling out this a chunk at a time? Sy |

It is available for all flavors of Vista. It is going out in chunks to save
servers. For the standalone package, though, you can download it from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en -- Dustin Harper dharper@vistarip.com http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "Sy Schiff" <syschiff@optonline.net> wrote in message news:AB654EF8-747F-459B-B48B-7C197786D938@microsoft.com... >I have automatic updates active (installation at night), but have not seen >SP1 listed as an update on my computer or on "Windows Update". Hello Sy,
Please check this KB article to determine if your computer is one that is unable to install SP1 yet: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is not available for installation from Windows Update and is not offered by Automatic Updates: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948343 "Sy Schiff" <syschiff@optonline.net> wrote in message news:AB654EF8-747F-459B-B48B-7C197786D938@microsoft.com... >I have automatic updates active (installation at night), but have not seen >SP1 listed as an update on my computer or on "Windows Update". Having a Dell E510 (running Ultimate) with the Sigmatel driver mentioned I
removed the driver expecting it to correct my issue. No go. After several hors of going back and forth with various audio drivers I decided to install an 'OPTIONAL update listed in my Windows Update (BitLOcker and EFS Enhancements). After doing this... Viola ! SP1 was now showing as an available update. Downloaded and installed in just under 30 minutes. Just finished this a couple hours ago and so far everything is working fine, system is more responsive and Vista now sees all 4 Gig of RAM I have installed (prior to SP1 it reported 3.22GB .
