Default Control panel empty, personalize not working, etc

I have the exact same problem (control panel, personalize, run command, aero,
etc) as the user in this post
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/co...f4-41fe605468a0
.. I think it happend shortly after I installed SP1. The thing is, when I try
to view my updates... the link to the left in "programs and features"
doesnt work. It's very frustrating. Any advice?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Try booting into Safe Mode (F8 during boot). You'll get back a limited
number of Control Panel items. If you are real lucky, you will be able
to uninstall the patch which is suspected of causing the issue.

Greta. I went into save mode and it allowed me to uninstall SP1, and all is
back to normal now. Good thinking Jeffrey!
