It speeds up nothing about UAC, it just looks faster without the split
second switch from unsecure to secured desktop. And, it enables a properly written bit of malware to usurp control and self elevate. There's nothing good about that tweak. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Jason" wrote in message news:ONl3UqWjIHA.5724@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > http://www.vistaforums.com/Forum/Topic4921-12-1.aspx > > Great tweak...speeds up UAC nicely. > > > Post Originated from http://www.VistaForums.com Vista Support Forums |

UAC is a well-intended, but poorly implemented security feature. If disabling the secure desktop is enough to convince more people to leave UAC enabled, then it is a useful tweak. Hopefully, in time, MS will revisit UAC and make it more usable, but in the meantime, we have to make the best of it. |
