Default unable to view faxes directly in faxconsole

in the past it was ok. Now i get the message: cannot view because o.s. does
not have a standard viewer for faxes (tif.files). When i use system recovery
to an earlier date, all goes well... for a few hours. I also have Adobe
Photoshop 2 installed (although for over one yr) and think that might be the
problem. Win XP Home Edit, pack 2

Photoshop has probably decided that it should be the default viewer for .TIF
files. This sort of thing can happen as a result of a program update; it
happens all the time when one, for example, has Outlook installed, but uses
a different email program as the default - every Outlook update released by
Microsoft usually resets the defaults to Outlook, much to the chagrin of the
computer owner who wants the other email program to remain the default. I'm
not familiar enough with Photoshop to tell you exactly which menu to check,
however, somewhere in the program's options should be a list of file types
that it wants to be the default for. if it wants to be the default viewer
for .TIFs, tell it no.

the save it anywhere on your pc.try to open the saved tif document with
microsoft image viewer or any other application that you would want to set
