With Windows Vista Mail open, when I click the Send/Receive Mail tab, my
internet connection is closed and Windows Mail then re-establishes it and does the send/receive function. When I display the Options in Mail and try to view the Connections page, Mail stops responding. Any suggestions why this happens? |

That means the account is corrupt, which was probably caused by
a non-compatible antivirus. Which antivirus are you running? -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "kenny p" <kennyp@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4E024780-715A-4A70-A2C0-B690C841E192@microsoft.com... > With Windows Vista Mail open, when I click the Send/Receive Mail tab, my > internet connection is closed and Windows Mail then re-establishes it and > does the send/receive function. Tools | Accounts Do this for every account: Select the account and click Properties. On the Connection tab uncheck "Always connect to this account using:". -- Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM www.fjsmjs.com Do not reply with email |

Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled. After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download and install a more compatible antivirus like: AVG free edition: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff or Avast free edition: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom install, and then deselect the email scanning option. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "kenny p" <kennyp@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BDF8DF8C-F262-4980-B635-FFE5C63BC74A@microsoft.com... > I'm running Norton 360. > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > >> That means the account is corrupt, which was probably caused by >> a non-compatible antivirus.
