Default Cannot display the Connections tab of Windows Vista Mail options p

With Windows Vista Mail open, when I click the Send/Receive Mail tab, my
internet connection is closed and Windows Mail then re-establishes it and
does the send/receive function. When I display the Options in Mail and try to
view the Connections page, Mail stops responding. Any suggestions why this
happens?

That means the account is corrupt, which was probably caused by
a non-compatible antivirus. Which antivirus are you running?

I'm running Norton 360.

1. Dump anything Norton or McAfee
2. Tools | Accounts
Do this for every account:
Select the account and click Properties.
On the Connection tab uncheck "Always connect to this account using:".

Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just
disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.
