Default ping Gary, mac, Brink, robertmiles, Frank, Dave

Since 90% + of the questions posted to this newsgroup have been asked and
answered umpteen times, I suggest you guys get together and write a FAQ.

The FAQ exists, on Google's archive of the newsgroups,
http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en

If only the people with problems would use it?

Seeing as 90% of people don't bother to search for previous posts, do you
think any of them would bother to read an FAQ?

Steve
Yes, one can use http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en to search
the archive. What I was suggesting was a FAQ specific to this group that is
posted frequently with a subject line something like "Read this FAQ before
posting". Additionally, posters can be given a link to the FAQ in reply to
their questions.

I found this excellent (albeit limited) FAQ written by Brink which is the
type of thing I had in mind. Adding more questions and answers to it could
serve as the FAQ for this group.

If people would just use a search engine like Google, it would resolve
90% of their issues. Unfortunately, we can't force people to read an FAQ first.
Brink's and Ramesh's (http://www.winhelponline.com ) web-based FAQs are a
good start, and I find it useful when I can merely reference one of those links
instead of doing a whole lot of typing.
