Default Mail deleted after 1 month

I've recently acquired a new computer and it has vista and windows mail on
it. I have aol as a service provider. My emails are disappearing after about
1 month and they also disappear off the server. I do not delete them. I have
tried going into the advanced settings on the tool bar but it doesn't give me
the option of setting a number of days. I have tried 'current views' and that
makes no difference either. Does anyone know what to do? Please help, I'm
really fed up with vista and windows mail.

AOL uses an IMAP type of connection, which leaves the messages on the
server instead of on your computer. Many email providers delete the
messages
from the server after a while, which would delete them from your view also.
You may need to choose an email provider other than AOL to get much more
control of this. I did, and still have a message that arrived in September
which
I left in by Inbox after I read it. I'd probably have even older messages
if I
hadn't had to replace my computer about then and lost access to the older
messages.
