When I play a song from my music player on iTunes the music folder creates a
folder inside the music folder for every song played. I am using XP 32 bit. |

Did you import the music using iTunes? If not, your iTunes is most likely
converting your mp3s into iTunes .AAC (or whatever format apple uses). When it make the conversion it puts it into it's own music folder. I think you can avoid this by going into the settings and make the import format .mp3. I tried that but it still creates folders. Any suggestion is welcome.

Hey there. I'm no expert, but I think that this is the way itunes organizes
your music. Each song you import from your cd's is put into its respective folder in itunes. That folder is usually the album name of the cd you just imported. It can be very frustrating importing greatest hits cd's as itunes likes to sometimes create a folder called "compilations " for these as opposed to the name of the artist. So you could, for example, have Queens Greatest Hits in the compilations folder and Classic Queen in the Queen folder. Both are "hits" albums by the same artist but itunes isn't recognizing this fact...love my ipod...hate itunes and its over indulgent logic. This leads to the thread I'm about to create regarding moving folders out of this compilations folder and into its proper folder without itunes completely losing its mind trying to find it. Just a follow up to my "rant" above...lol...you could try unchecking the
"keep itunes music folder organized" option. go to edit>preferences>advanced>general. It's the first check box under itunes music folder location.
