Default how do you get into console session?

Trying to use sfc /scannow - all I get is the message that I have to be in
the "Console Session" ???

My Vista Business is more often than not reporting "Not Responding", so I
thought running sfc would help me?

Is there a better solution, to identify the problem?

Default RE: how do you get into console session?

Hi John,

If you are getting this message, it indicates that you are trying to run the
command at the wrong command prompt. To enter this prompt, click the start
orb and type 'cmd' into the search box. You can press enter, and this will
take you to the following prompt: 'C:\Users\[YourName]>', where [YourName] is
your account name, but this will be the wrong prompt for what you require.
Instead, right click on the program and select 'Run as administrator'. After
providing administrative credentials, the program will open at the following
prompt: 'C:\Windows\system32>', which is the prompt that you need.
