I am trying to use a picture from my pictures to show as the user picture in
the user account, but the image selected does not show completely in the user picture container, it is cropped by the system. This only happens on some jpg files and not on others. Any ideas on what might be going wrong? |

Resize the image to 128x128 px dimensions, that's the max it supports. Adding a custom picture to the list of user account pictures: http://www.winhelponline.com/articl...t-pictures.html -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com Winhelponline.com blog http://www.winhelponline.com/blog "Bob" <Bob@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F42A2715-7698-41F1-AC1E-92A124A3E38E@microsoft.com... Thanks for the information. I tried this but still get pictures that are cut
off. The source photo that I am using is rectangular. I experimented with several other photos that are rectangular and some that are more or less square in their original dimensions. The photos that are more or less square work (e.g. a photo that is 281 x 253 px) work and do not need to be resized to fit in the container. The system appears to take care of resizing by itself. However a picture that is 1728 x 2592 px or one that is 53 x 85 px is displayed but is cropped by the system. Is there a requirement that the original photo be "nearly" square for this process to work correctly? Hi Bob,
From what I see, the system seems to crop images if the height is more than the image Width (example: 1728 x 2592 px). Note that it resizes perfectly fine if the other way (Width is more, example 1440x900) -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com Winhelponline.com blog http://www.winhelponline.com/blog "Bob" <Bob@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1E442460-F9B6-40BC-A7A0-E2F1C5FD536F@microsoft.com...
