vista closes out all windows and i have to restart

before buying a laptop i did a lot of reading on peoples experiences using
vista. i was very worried about it and now i am amoung many with a problem.
everything ran fine at first i didnt understand why it was a
problem...then...it happened... it automatically updated!!!
once that happened i have had a problem with IE. i can go into a website
such as pogo, play a game, but when i close out from a game to choose a
different game, IE closes out ALL my pages.
then when i go back into pogo to play a game NOTHING... it wont load the
game and you can NOT click the webpage closed I have to restart my laptop
EVERYTIME i want to change a game or close a window.
my computer is a WEEK old!!!

Have you tried another browser like firefox?

What version I -Explorer?
