Default Vista SP1 and its pre-requsities???

What are the new features and pre-requsities for installing Vista SP1?

Does WUSU SP1 is a "MUST" before installing Vista SP1? But how comes WUSU
has pre-requities for installing Windows Server first for Vista client???

I heard there requiring perform patches from the machine vendor first before
installing it. Is is true?

WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) is a server-based program that
delivers updates to the PCs in your network. I don't think you need this at
all and should eliminate any thoughts of it in regard to installing Vista
Service Pack 1 on your home computer.

Yes, there are prerequisite patches that will be installed on your computer
prior to Vista Service Pack 1 being offered. If you use Windows Update or
Microsoft Update to update your computer you don't have anything to worry
about, all will fall into place at the proper times.

Thank you for your response.

You have clarified the main objective of WSUS SP1. Can you tell me more
about those pre-requsities (including those not mentioned in the technet) of
installing Vista SP1 because I got fail in installing Vista SP1 on my IBM
Thinkpad machine even I have properly installing all critical patches from
Windows Updates successfully.

Also why the SP1 can't tell the exact probelm if it find out during the
installing that surely would have stepping-stone for its popularity.
