Default Webcam problems

Hi there,
I've been using Vista for about 11 months now, and I cannot find a webcam
that will work on my laptop. At first I thought it was just a compatibility
issue, but I've used webcams on other Vista systems and had no problems.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can fix this, or even what the problem
might be? I've tried Logitech, Genius, Phillips, and several other brands.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

I now have a Microsoft MX7000. It works very well with Skype.
I previously had a Logitech camera and it also worked perfectly.

Try uninstalling, then reinstalling the software - WITH the
Webcam disconnected and reconnecting it USB when
advised to do so.,
