Default Usability Bug: Laptop suspends while trying to hybernate.

I hope this is in the bug Database.

On a new laptop with Vista.
Tell it to Hybernate.
Immediatly close the lid.
Notice the machine went to sleep.

Open lid.
Notice the machine continues with the hybernate.

Expected behavior:
For the machine to finish hybernating instead of going to sleep half way.

I found this frustration because the behavior was unexpected and I had to
wait an extra long to for my machine to finish hybernating and then wait for
it to wake up.

I have prevented this from happening to me by turning off the sleep when the
lid is closed.

The real fix would be for the sleep code to check that the machine isn't
busy hybernating before putting the machine to sleep.

It feels like the left hand isn't talking to the right hand.

How about placing your finger on the power button and giving it a slight
push? Is it that difficult?

I assume you made all the desired action settings in the Your Power Plan-->
Advanced Settings found in Control Panel. I would also be sure you have the
latest power management software from the laptop maker.

How about standing on the edge of a cliff and taking a small step forward?
Is it that difficult?
