Hi,
I have Windows Vistax64 and recently I have been receiving the above message every time I try to open an Office application, Office 2003 32-bit is installed. If I remove all the printers I don't get this message, but if I add a network printer which has a Vistax64 bit driver I will start getting the error again. This has only been happening this week, maybe after some updates were installed. Does anyone have a solution? Chris. |

Hi,
I have deleted the following updates, but still get this problem: KB946254 KB944941 KB943983 Updates KB907417 and KB945185 can't be deleted. I would appreciate some help with this. Chris. I assume the 64 bit programs like notepad can print. Make sure you are not
running the 32 bit app by opening task manager. Anything with *32 is not x64. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941962/en-us You experience problems when you try to print a document in a 32-bit program on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base here: http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Try enabling the following:
Click > Start > Control panel > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Security section. Select the following three options: 1. Allow active content fro CDs to run on My Computer* 2. Allow active content to run files on My Computer* 3. Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid. See if this helps |

Vista Business x64 w/SP1 and patched/up to date. Office 2007 + Visio 2007 + Project 2007 Savin c4540 multi function printer using PCL6 drivers for Vista x64 printing from Excel and Project (and other Office 2007) fails with the "Thunking Spooler APIS from 32 to 64 Process has stopped working" error message. printing from notepad to Savin reports invalid handle printing from notepad to HP LJ 4000N is VERY VERY SLOW and works 50% of the time. Very frustrating - especially since this is my introduction to Vista. If Vista can't print, it's a deal killer. I have to be able to print reliably. So far, I can't print reliably. |
