Default touchpad/mousepad /ps2 disable feature disabled/greyed-out in vista

Hi,

I am sure this is a common question, and idid a search, and could not find
the answer.

I have a GQ-NX-L515 laptop I purchased from frys.com, which has Vista home
basic pre-installed.

I am not a big fan of the mousepad feature, "just gets in the way while I
type and becomes a nuisance" if you ask me, so I opted to use a USB mouse
which is showing up in device manager as a HID device under mice tree, along
with PS2, which is the touchpad/mousepad.

I have went to the driver details of this device to try to disable the
ps2/mousepad/touchpad, and the "disable" option is shown in this box, but it
is greyed-out, not allowing me to choose this option.

Are/is there any regedit entries I can do to enable the "disable" function
for the mousepad?

Thanks in advance.

Vince
